    CartoonBoy and Lurkerfella,

Sorry if you had problems after viewing the Love Test site, I didn't get anything from there, not even a cookie, so I assumed no one else would!

Wrong, evidently, IE- I don't use, and my settings only allow what cookies I want, so maybe you need more warning systems or stronger settings?

You are certainly in the right forum to check all that out! :)

It was certainly not my intention to harm or aggravate anyone, my apologies to any who were.

(I also didn't click on any links that I didn't post, any site will have questionable links to places you might not want to go, I usually just ignore them.)
Again, I will check with someone before I post anymore links to anywhere!!

    Choclate--great for valentines day :D

    Feel Good, Inside and Out
Ah, chocolate. I don't think there's a food that is more loved and revered around the world (except maybe caviar, and that's an acquired taste!). When we are born, we all have a sweet tooth. And as we grow up, that sweet tooth is refined and honed on chocolate treats from simple fudge to rich cakes and pies, ice cream, cookies, and decadent candies.
I love the fact that chocolate is celebrated in the dead of winter. Valentine's Day would be a pale imitation of itself without chocolate. Did you know that eating chocolate stimulates hormones in your brain that makes you feel like you are in love? Plus, chocolate (in moderation) is good for you! Good-for-you compounds like flavanoids, theobromine, tannins, and nutrients like copper, calcium and magnesium are found in all chocolate.

But while true chocolate lovers appreciate this science, taste and texture are more important. Chocolate is so good because of cocoa butter and other fats, which melt at a low temperature, coating your mouth and spreading the fabulous flavor

There are a few tricks you need to know when working with chocolate. First, purchase the best chocolate you can find. When you open chocolate, you may find a pale coating on the surface. This is called bloom, and doesn't affect the quality or properties of chocolate at all, but is a result of the chocolate being exposed to fluctuating temperatures.

When melting chocolate, make sure that all your utensils, pans, pots, and spoons are dry. The tiniest bit of water combining with the chocolate as it melts can cause it to seize, or thicken into lumps. (If this does happen, stir in a bit of solid shortening to help smooth things out.)

Chocolate performs best at low temperatures. When melting or baking chocolate products, use low heat to prevent burning. Some recipes call for 'tempering' chocolate. This process controls the temperature of the chocolate, creating crystals that form and help solidify the chocolate when at room temperature.

    cake recipe

This fabulous cake is so fun to make! First you bake a two layer cake mix cake, then combine chunks of cake with a rich chocolate ganache to form a thick fudge-like mixture. This is chilled, unmolded, and coated with more ganache for a chocoholics dream.
    INGREDIENTS:

1 pkg. two layer devil's food cake mix
    1-1/3 cups water
1/2 cup safflower or peanut oil
    3 eggs
16 oz. good quality semisweet chocolate, chopped
    1-1/3 cups heavy cream
    1/4 cup unsalted butter
    PREPARATION:

Prepare cake mix as directed on package, using water, oil and egg measurements above. Bake in two greased and floured 8" round pans at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Cool in pans 10 minutes, remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
Melt chocolate in medium saucepan over low heat.
Heat cream and butter together in a large saucepan until it boils. Pour cream over chocolate and beat with wire whisk until smooth. Cool 20 minutes.
Line 9" springform pan with waxed paper. Cut cooled cake into cubes. Place cake cubes in large mixer bowl. Pour 1-1/3 cups ganache over the cake cubes and mix on low speed with an electric mixture until texture is like thick fudge. Spread evenly in prepared pan, smoothing top. Freeze for one hour. Unmold cake, place on serving plate, remove waxed paper, and coat cake on the top and sides with remaining chocolate ganache. Store in refrigerator. 16-20 servings

    For the ladies on Valentine's.

    Dreams of the Everyday Housewife

She looks in the mirror and stares at the wrinkles that weren't there yesterday
And thinks of the young man that she almost married
What would he think if he saw her this way?

She picks up her apron in little girl-fashion as something comes into her mind
Slowly starts dancing rememb'ring her girlhood
And all of the boys she had waiting in line

Oh, such are the dreams of the everyday housewife
You see ev'rywhere any time of the day
An everyday housewife who gave up the good life for me

The photograph album she takes from the closet and slowly turns the page
And carefully picks up the crumbling flower
The first one he gave her now withered today

She closes her eyes and touches the house dress that suddenly disappears
And just for the moment she's wearing the gown
That broke all their minds back so many years

Oh, such are the dreams of the everyday housewife
You see ev'rywhere any time of the day
An everyday housewife who gave up the good life for me

Oh, such are the dreams of the everyday housewife
You see ev'rywhere any time of the day
An everyday housewife who gave up the good life for me

Oh, such are the dreams of the everyday housewife
You see ev'rywhere any time of the day
    An everyday housewife

So it would be as such:

LOL! That's OK, Icewind!! Someone didn't like the site because they got a cookie or somethingo_O, so it was purposely XX'd out!

So, be careful, though only one person seems to have had a bad time there, make sure you check for cookies and clean your cache and temp files after visiting an unknown place.

Thanks for caring about it- though - just like a Wilders'!! :D

And Happy Valentine's Day to you!!

Hmm... no I didn't think of that. Yeah, cookies are a real pain especially if you have lots of them, but they are harmless. All they do is send a text file of the site which you visited (which might invade some people's privacy) and send it through by code. It makes you visit a site much faster... but on the other hand, I recommend deleting them, along with files from the Internet's Temp and the Cache Temp every month or so.

    Cheers, :)
    Davo.

And Happy Valentines to you too Marja! :-*
