Hi, A few months ago we had a thread about a file imon1.dat : https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=160635 The discussion in that thread did get a little bit heated. Please, I don't want this thread going that way too ! As some of you know, I run several file-integrity-checkers. Recently I did a test on my XP-home computer. You can read about it in this thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=170563 reply # 6 It was about testing an ANI Exploit. IMON jumped up immediatelly with a warning. I wanted to take a screenshot, so I waited a few minutes before answering the IMON warning while I was starting my screen-capture program and taking the screenshot. Please note: This thread is not about that ANI Exploit. That ANI Exploit is just only an example. One of my file-integrity-checkers warned me that this new file was added to my system: C:\WINDOWS\system32\imon1.dat I don't think that there is anything malicious with respect to this file. IMON was just doing its job: warning me (I don't let any scanner on my system do its job automatically without giving me a warning; but that's my choice). (Of course Marcos, if you want me to do it, I can send you the file in private ). Well, this was only meant to shed some light upon this file in general.
