    Hi,

    I'm a registered NOD32 user.
Installed V2 on top of existing V1 installation. (Win9:cool:

After restart - Kerio Personal Firewall (2.1.4) crashes on start-up then NOD crashes, then I get more crashes from NOD and Kerio (Kerio also gives error messages)
After I disabled IMON and restarted - everything's ok.

Another problem - I have lost the Right Click Shell Extension (scan with NOD)
I see that another person reported this - it seems like the V2 installer removes V1 shell extension and does not create a new one.
I already installed Paolo's advanced shell ext. but ESET should look into
this issue and update their installer.

Please assist with solving IMON/KPF conflict.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi gpdev,

What do the error messages say?

OK - this will be checked too.

Hi, i had the same problem, you should uninstall NODv1, restart pc and install NODv2, restart pc and the problem is solved, that is for me, but it is worth a try.

    Good luck,

    Martin

    Jan,

    I get the following errors:

    1) Kerio crashes (Illegal Operation) at NTDLL.DLL (0177:77f58277)
    2) Kerio message: "pfVarLibInit: vol_server_start error: 1 (10047 socket() failed)"

    3) Kerio crashes at the same place (NTDLL same address)

    4) Kerio message: "FilterLogSyslogInit: unable to open socket (error: 10047)"

    5) Kerio crashes again (same place)

This only happens when IMON is enabled.

Martin: thanks, I'll try this - but the installation guide says:
"3. Uninstalling the currently installed NOD32 version 1 is not necessary – just run the installation package of NOD32 v2, which you have downloaded before (by double-clicking the file downloaded)"

So I expected it to work without having to reinstall.

Isn't there something in the registry that you can just add back in or turn back on related to the new version (when you've let the updater handle it) that will give you back the right-click scan option?

That would keep you from having to do a complete un-install/re-install?

Or is this something that could be corrected by an update? Pete

It should be enough to install over the excisting v1, but when i got the same problems you have i decided to make a clean install, and it workt for me, you must decide what you will do.

    Good luck

    Reinstall does NOT help

I've uninstalled NOD, restarted then installed NOD and restarted.
    Kerio still crashes on start-up.

At the moment I can't use IMON because of this.
Is there a way to scan emails without IMON running? (like in V1 where I could simply launch pop3scan and check mail)
If not, then I'll have to resort to V1 :(

I hope ESET solves this problem soon.

I have Kerio 2.15 (latest non-beta made available over the last month or so) installed, and I have had zero conflicts between NOD32 v2 and this version of Kerio.

I don't know if installing the latest version of Kerio will help, but you might give it a try.

I did a complete uninstall of NOD32 before installing the new version just because that usually works best, especially with new software when all the kinks aren't worked out. So, I can't say what might have happened if I had done an over-the-top-install.

All functions of NOD32 (Amon, IMON, etc.) are running, and all options are set to highest security (deep heuristics scanning, etc.)

Very sound advice - not only in regard to NOD32, but in regard to software firewall defense as well ;).

That's right, fogot to mention it, Kerio 2.14 had some security bug which they solved in 2.15, don't know which version you are running, if you do have 2.14 i sugggest uninstalling it and try the 2.15, might help.
I also am running 2.15 and have no problem waht so ever.

It might also help running Regclean before installing the new NOD, cleaning the registry out of junk entries, leftovers form NODv1 and Kerio 2.14.

    Regclean can be downloaded at:

    Good luck,

    Still NOT resolved!

I've uninstalled both Kerio and NOD32
Ran jv16 reg cleaner to remove any left overs.
    Installed NOD32 v2 (restarted)
    Installed Kerio 2.1.5 (restarted)

Kerio STILL crashes on start-up when IMON is enabled.

Thank you guys for your advice but this issue is still not resolved :(
I'm running Win98 here not XP, on XP I guess there's no conflict.

I've emalied ESET support yesterday (with my username and password)
But still nothing from them, I guess they are bogged down by all the support requests
But I do hope that someone from ESET gets back to me soon.

Sorry I didn't mention it earlier when I posted about Kerio 2.15, but I have a machine running Win98, Kerio 2.15, and NOD32 v2 with no problems.

So your statement about the incompatibility between NOD32 v 2 and Kerio running on Win98 platform is not universally true.

    Hope Eset can help.

    No reply from ESET!

It's been a WEEK since my first post about this issue.
The same day I also sent an official support email to ESET (using the form on their site)

I still haven't heard from them!

I'm a registered customer and have just recently renewed my NOD subscription and I would like to get NODv2 working on my system.

I can only do that with the help of ESET employees.
I provided ESET with all the details relevant to this issue,
Please - contact me so we can solve this problem.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi gpdev,

your problems sounds very familiar to me. See my post about ZAF and NOD, which in fact turned out to be not a ZAF/NOD issue, but an issue of a failed install of IMON.

From your spec I see that you use Win98, same as I do. I have checked this several times, even on clean Win98 installs. IMON fails to install properly, so I guess this is a bug.

That said, installing a different version of Kerio won't work. I see that some users are running IMON and Win98 in peaceful coexistence. If you want and have the time, send me a pm and I will send you the registry keys to check, so that we see whether you suffer the same problem as I do.

    Hi gpdev,

sorry - we are pretty busy here - we tried to replicate the problem - Kerio PF 2.1.5 runs fine with NOD v2 reinstalled over v1 on Win98 here.

Could you pls. confirm your issue is the same as Karl's ?

    Thanks,

    jan
