I like the fact that NOD recently added many trojan detections, and now are adding spyware. Eset seems to be going in the direction of a total malware detection program. I wanted to test the Beta to learn a little more about the settings and functions of NOD. So please bear with me if I ask questions which might seem simple to some.

IMON found a trojan last night when I was opening up a web page (don't know which one it was a link). NOD popped up with a virus warning.

    NAME : <removed>
    VIRUS : Win32/TrojanDownloader.VB.EU.trojan

I was just wondering why IMON and not AMON would pick this up?? The help files say that IMONs primary role is to monitor incoming email.

    Thanks,

Mikel I removed your link. Please don't post links to potential malware. Ron

Imon also provides HTTP scanning for adware/spyware if desired. I think the idea is to prevent this stuff from getting on your computer in the first place.
That is a much better option than having to potentially clean an infiltration.

I am so sorry about the link. I was just copying away what was on NOD and never thought that it would be dangerous.

I agree that it is better than cleaning an infiltration. I just thought that it would be picked up by AMON. I thought that I missed how certain things would be detected. Anyways, I am glad that it picked it up.

I realize you didn't purposely post a bad link. :)

HTTP scanning has turned out to be a great addition to Imon. Innocent appearing links are often times much more than they appear to be.

Now if you excuse me, I'm going into a beergarden!
And hopefully no idiots releasing exactly in this moment a new worm, or spamming trojandownloaders via email as it was done in march with this Sucker

I'll take a look at your trojan tomorrow :D

I'm back  Had some problems to open the gate coz lot's of keys and it's dark outsite :ninja:

@SSK: yes, Zlaty Bazant is the local beer here, means golden fasan translated into english. In the beergarden they call me "Smadny mnich" means something like "the thirsty monk" :D (i go very rarely in this beergarden, but when i go - then beware!)

@Stephanos: Sure, as long as you can keep up :D

First at all, i did send mikel108 a pm because we are hijacking here his thread with beergarden related things. He replied back that is absolutely no problem :D Thanks Mate ;)

And now to your statement... 'I'll drink ya under the table, and I'm 16!' ...

You probably don't know it, but there's no sitting on a table - there's only dancing on the table during such beergarden events :D
We should really go out some time together.... i tell ya.... Don't think that 'older' people are scared or afraid to have fun, i'll bet my underwear that you wouldn't believe your eyes if you were here :D

I've got to go study now...I'll see you around the boards, HB :)

P.S. Have a nice straight Horilka on me

Does NOD32 prevents websites from stealing cookies?
