The object blocked was Win32/Adware.MediaTickets.downloader Application. If I blocked it, the web site would not work properly (couldnt login), if i ignored it everything was fine except the knowledge that malware is on my comp. Although its obvious i need to contact the web site author, i was wondering wut the adware does and why the functionality of the website requires it.

Why? Cause they want to force you to accept the malware to get to the content and that's how they make money. And they tried to do it a way where you couldn't say "No."

Before you decide to say "OK" this time or next, remember that they are using your electricity, your bandwidth, your time, your PC, to make money off you.

The website author is probably one of the people making money. Find someplace else to get what you want.
