    I am having trouble both in trying to image to a netowrk pc and also trying to pull an image off of a netowrk PC. I am not running a domain. The PC where the image resides is a windows XP machinge with out SP2. I have shared a folder and given the everyone group full rights under the security tab and also under the share tab. I then boot the PC i am trying to image from the rescue cd and browse out to the PC and the share and i can see the image, but when i try and tel it to image it says that the file is not a true image file or it is currupt i know it is not currupt becuase i have run a check on it from the PC that it resides on. When i try an put an image on the same share from a networked pc i get an error that states it is not a valid location any help would be great thanks

    Hello faroff2282,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please make sure that you use the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

    To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
    then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

    Please create new Bootable Rescue CD after installing the update, boot your PC from this CD and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists with the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 then please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Please also do the following:

    - Boot from the Acronis True Image 8.0 rescue disc and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears;

    - After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the "quiet" word, click on the OK button and wait for # prompt to appear.

    - Issue the following commands:

    asamba dhcp -n
    asamba masters

    - Write down the output after each of the commands or use a digital camera to make a shots of the output screens;

    cd tmp
    mkdir mntdir
    mount /devfs/floppy/0 mntdir
    cat /proc/net/dev > mntdir/net.txt
    umount mntdir

    - Collect the net.txt file from the diskette.

    Please also download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0, create Bootable Rescue CD, boot your PC from this CD and see if the problem still persists.

    Send all the collected files and information to support@acronis.com along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
