    Why can't I disable PHYLock is V3?
It won't let me. I get the error that I posted above.

I have never had any success with PHYLock. V2 allowed me to disable it and just use VSS.

I think V3 has some bugs.

Change it to "Run only when user is logged on" and all will be OK.

I've always had to manually select "Windows 10" for any task, not just IFW.

Can you manually do an image using PHYLock or is IFW still running in Task Scheduler?

I had to re-enable PHYLock to stop the error message.
    Now waiting, waiting, waiting.

If it hasn't started after 5 minutes abort and change the Write Free Time from 4250 to 2500.

Aborted and changed Write Free Time from 4250 to 2500, but no luck.

Back to PHYLock is waiting for drive to stop.

I might have to go back to V2. It all worked fine with VSS last night.

I am going to try uninstalling PHYLock altogether rather than disabling it.

    Are you using 3.00a version?

Does your VSS look like this?

When I select: "Attempt Aggressive Lock On Retry" IFW crashes.

Another bug is that my Scheduled Task has disappeared in IFW, although it is still in Task Scheduler.

Last year my wife's tablet had the same "Unable to obtain a lock on drive C:"
I couldn't fix it but VSS worked. I tried PHYLock recently on her tablet, no problem and PHYLock still works.

    I'm out of ideas.

I appreciate your help, Brian, but there are a lot less buggier and simpler image backup programs that "Just Work".

    Thank you very much. :thumb:

It's typical that a new version will always be buggier, although it may be more cutting-edge. You probably want to wait for version 3.1 or 3.2 then try it.

    Hadron,

I forgot, were you using IFW V2 without issues, or not.

Hadron, I suggest you contact TeraByte Support and outline the issue.

It seems that neither version two or three work with Windows 10 version 1607. I can't get either one to work, with either phylock or vss. Oddly Macrium Reflect functions with it, so I know the issue has the be with terabyte. Can anyone confirm?

I'm using Win10 1607 on several computers and V2 and V3 are fine.

Is it possible Macrium and IFW have a conflict?

I doubt it; I installed Macrium after IFW failed so I could test VSS.

When I try version 3.00a with phylock I get the below error.

    sshot-1.jpg

Any when I try to uninstall phylock i get this error.

    sshot-2.jpg

    So, I'm at a loss....

    n8,

I just tried Macrium and V3 IFW together. No IFW issues.

Your issue is similar to Hadron's. Can you contact TeraByte Support?

And if you attempt Aggressive Lock, I bet IFW crashes.
