Image Backup Job Schedules and TIB Files?

How does everyone setup their backup job schedules? Do you do full image backups everyday, monthly, and/or incrementals, etc?

I'm just wondering because a week ago I started out with a full image backup with incrementals supposedly appended to the same filename. But actually it is making separate incremental files each day now. It is going to be a pain to do a bare metal restore or something like that 6 months from now if I have to load each incremental file in sequence!

I need to revise my image backup job schedules to be more logical and useful in a workplace environment somehow to be easier to manage for any kind of restores.
