I'm trialling these two bits of software.

After installing IFW I did a backup of HD0 which only contained the system partition C:. I explicitly selected HD0 rather than just the partition as I wanted to restore the entire disk as a test.

I then installed BING which created its own partition. BING booted OK and I was able to boot into Win 2000 OK.

I then booted into the IFW bootable diskette and tried to do a restore of HD0 but was worried when I seemed to only be given the option of partitions as the target for the restore.

After the restore I then rebooted and was surprised to see that I was booted into BING.

If the entire disk was supposed to be restored BING should have been wiped out and I should have gone back to the state before I installed BING.

I uninstalled BING and am now back to the state pre-BING.

Does IFW actually backup an entire disk or does it only backup partitions?
