Interesting, but can you record streams ?

I use Vlc, works very well indeed. I can of course also add my own stations and save them to a playlist. Recording streams works without a hitch

Amarok is OK. You can add the shoutcast script and the recordstream script which uses streamripper. However for recording there is nothing to beat Vlc imho.

i've always used mplayer and gnome-mplayer, i watch a lot of docs and tv with them. i have this alias -

mplay is aliased to `mplayer -idx'

i use to make it play unfinished downloads and fix the audio if it's slightly out.

i haven't installed VLC for years and it looks different now, i saw someone using it for podcasts/rss the other day, maybe i should try that out too

he's the guy i grew up with and has been voted in the top 100 djs a few times. i can't believe how good he is, it might just be because we always liked the same stuff. right now at about the 30 min mark it's got sam cooke (i think ) i love it his mixing/editting is perfect.
