    iceni60,

Interesting, but can you record streams ?

I use Vlc, works very well indeed. I can of course also add my own stations and save them to a playlist. Recording streams works without a hitch :)

Amarok is OK. You can add the shoutcast script and the recordstream script which uses streamripper. However for recording there is nothing to beat Vlc imho.

Otherwise I have made no changes to Kubuntu 11.10. I prefer the standard Air
    Theme and Icons. :)

i hadn't thought of that, i'll try it out and see how it goes, thanks.

i've always used mplayer and gnome-mplayer, i watch a lot of docs and tv with them. i have this alias -
    Code:
mplay is aliased to `mplayer -idx'
i use to make it play unfinished downloads and fix the audio if it's slightly out.

i haven't installed VLC for years and it looks different now, i saw someone using it for podcasts/rss the other day, maybe i should try that out too :thumb:

i'm listening to this right now -

he's the guy i grew up with and has been voted in the top 100 djs a few times. i can't believe how good he is, it might just be because we always liked the same stuff. right now at about the 30 min mark it's got sam cooke (i think o_O) i love it  his mixing/editting is perfect.
