If I use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware Free edition, do I need Spybot search & Destroy as well?

Or can I uninstall Spybot search & Destroy?

I personally no longer use Spybot S&D . In my opinion , it used to be a great application but since v 1.5 it changed a lot and I kind of dislike it . In my opinion , MBAM is ligher , smaller and better at detection/removal than SAS and SB S&D so ... if I were you I would keep MBAM only.

if you use a well configure hips program you may only probably need an ondemand scaner only to scan may be once a week.a hips can fully protect you very well:thumb:

Ok thanks HiTech_boy. Seeing you are a HiTech_boy, I believe you and will remove S&D and only use MBAM.

So MBAM and SAS also detect keyloggers and trojans like S&D does?

For what it is worth I would suggest running either MBAM or SuperAntiSpyware as real time and the other as an on demand. I myself have SuperAntiSpyware as my real time and MBAM as my on demand. The other posters are I am sure more knowledgeable than I when it comes to computers but at least that is what I would suggest you do. Hope this helps.

S&D detectes keyloggers, do MBAM and SAS also detect keyloggers and trojans like S&D does?

I am going to ditch spybot search & destroy and only use, MSAM and SAS.

Are you guys sure that those 2 detect keyloggers and trojans like spybot search & destroy do?

Well I think that SAS and MBAM are much better in detection than Spybot overall.

SAS does not detect commercial keyloggers I think, don't know about MBAM.

SAS and MBAM definitely detect trojans.

However, you could keep Spybot and use the Immunization feature. That could help prevent infections.

So seeing SAS and MBAM dont detect keyloggers, I will keep Spybot for that purpose.

It's not my MAIN concern, but I think I need a keylogger detector and it seems only Spybot checks for keyloggers.

Are you sure MBAM doesn't detect commercial keyloggers? Commercial keyloggers and malware keyloggers are two different things. SAS and MBAM should detects malware keyloggers.

You might also want to try a-squared 3.5 Free for a second On-Demand scanner.
    http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/compare/

    -Signature scan for Trojans/Backdoors/Keylogger/Rootkits(Yes).

    -Live detection of Keylogger behavior(No).

Quote from SAS forum here: "Yes, we detect malicious keyloggers."

Actually I'm not sure about MBAM, I just assume they do. Since they say they detect malware, short for malicious software, and a keylogger is a malicious software.

keyloggers are very hard to defeat, some of them are stealth so if you really want to defeat any keylogger(except hardware keyloggers)i will advice to use keyscramble it is free,it doesnt detect any keyloggers but for sure it will scramble the words in your keyboard like scramble eggs for breakfast:D
note:add toast and coffee to it.

That's great, SAS dectects keyloggers, nobody said it did, so that's good to know.. now I have no reason to keep Spybot. :thumb:

That's only if it installs on your computer. You can easily stop it before it gets on your computer.

Yes, easily. When they are not embedded in your system, they can still be detected easily by scanners, that is if they have the sig in database or otherwise detect the pest for example based on behaviour (tries to install kb hooks etc.) :)
