I had problems with FF and Yahoo mail in that I cannot print mail from Yahoo with FF. Accordingly, I used IE8 with Yahoo.

Beginning yesterday when I would go to Yahoo mail my system would freeze with IE8, and I would have to use Windows Task Manager to turn it off, and that took at least three tries.

I also have a laptop, but it works well with IE8 and Yahoo.

I had Opera a couple of months ago, but it did not operate well on my systems. However, Yahoo mail has been flaky for some time.

Any ideas re IE8 and Yahoo?
    Thanks

    Regards,
    Jerry

Here is the fix suggested by Yahoo TS. It corrected the problem, and in case anyone else has the problem I am providing the basic info.
    Regards,
    Jerry

    Begin
    If running Internet Explorer 8.0:

    1. Click "Tools" and select "Internet Options."
    2. Click the "Advanced" tab on the right.
    3. Under "Browsing," remove the "Enable third-party browser extensions"
    check box.
    4. Click "OK" and close out of all instances of Internet Explorer.
    5. Relaunch Internet Explorer.

Once this is completed, please try accessing your account again. If the
issue persists, the second thing to try is clearing your cookies and cache.

    Internet Explorer 8.0 for Windows:

    1. Choose "Internet Options..." from IE's Tools menu.
    2. Click on "Delete" under "Browsing History."
    3. Place a check in the "Temporary Internet Files," "Cookies" and
    "History" checkboxes
    4. Click the OK button at the bottom of the Internet Options window.
    5. Close and re-start your browser.
    End
