I'd like an IE7 shell that will work with WU. That's free & small (file size & resource useage). Features should make browser easier not complex or superfluous. Has to be a trouble free uninstall. In case I can't stand it.

Tried Avant shell years ago, too clumsy, bloated & buggy. Maxthion used to be recommended, never tried it.

IE7 is my 3rd most used browser. But I'd like to see what a good shell would do. Opera 9.02 ~97%, FF2 ~2% & IE7 ~1% (mostly WU).

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have a Friend who swears by Avant. Do not use IE7, only IE6 < 1%of the time. Sorry, do not know if Avant works with IE7. Side note. For those using IE7 on XP and experiencing "bugs". The same Friend is running it on the latest Vista RC and says it is totally different in behavior, solid as a rock.

Back OT. From what reading I have done, Avant will work with IE7 with only minor lose in functionality. Do a Google and a little research. You will probably find more then you could ever want to know.

Over at Maxthon forum. Looks like IE7 & the current build of Maxthon don't play nice.

It'll probably be a while until stable shells are made for IE7.

Did a [MOVE]quick[/MOVE] read on some info. about the latest Avant (11 I think) and IE7. The only bug I saw reported was with the zoom function on some web pages. If you do not use it you probably will not notice.

In here now on Avant\IE6. Fast starting, fast page loads. Looking into doing some tweaking now. Do not like having Yahoo as the default search for one thing.

i cant remember but its not a very deadly one.

there is an box that you can untick during the install so it doesnt install the ad ware thou. it put me off thou because i didnt know if the rest of maxthon had any malware installed that it didnt give me a yes or no about.

    :D :D :D

They are working on the v2.0 that will have full support for IE 7.0.
The current version was design for previous version of IE, so it is normal that it takes some time to add that support...
