IE6 is “Safer” than Chrome or Opera

    It is typical company boiler plate posting. It should be abused as such but in reality they are not saying, although they have left it wide open for misinterpretation, Opera or Chrome is less secure then other browser

    Like Meldrew, it has one foot in the grave;) .

    And Safari is supported only on the Mac as per OP's link.

    Saw that! Maybe they shorted Opera prior to the announcement for a quick buck?

    But maybe the "safety" aspect comes from numbers as in, "there's safety in numbers".

    What comes across is that the bank can't be bothered to have a competent IT team.

    Yup. "Oh it's too much effort making it compatible with all browsers, let's force them to use an insecure browser like IE6". Yeah, like IE6 is much better on standards...
