IE Security zones question

hi all

today i ran the winsock fix from this location http://www.bu.edu/pcsc/internetaccess/winsock2fix.html

becaues i was having problems and i was told that it could be caused by my winsock config being all messed up anyway some time later i went to ies controle panel i noticed that a new zone had appeared under the security tab My Computer and im wondering what this is and how it got there and what its for i set everything inside to disable/promped just incase till i get a lil more info about this

can amyone shed some lite on it please im running win 98 se
