As I may have been wrong earlier, it's possible you need SP2 not SP1.

But I'm going to assume you already have SP2 right? I think it might be an ie9 bug.

Just installed it here. So far so good, I like the new look. And it's great to have an x64 browser with x64 flash now. Finally..... :)

Yeah 64bit browsing definitely feels a lot smoother, 64bit GPU accelerated browsing is even better :D

Apparently the next beta is supposed to add better customization to the UI like moving where the tabs are placed, the wait starts again... Oh well, I've actually made it my main browser now I like it that much.

You have to have User Account Control switched on in Vista before Internet Explorer 9 will download updates and install.

I tried three times until I found out this was needed for a successful install:rolleyes:

That domain is owned by Microsoft, it may datamine but you must accept it for the site to work at full capacity - you may block it via your Browser or Hosts file, if you wish.

No problems here downloading on Vista64 ultimate. I like the new browser, pretty fast too. Unfortunately it crashes very often when opening new pages, IE9 64 bit still has problems with Adobe flash (either only the sound works or it crashes). It is definitely a very early beta on Vista64.

Internet Explorer 9 Beta preview - Good job Microsoft

    Hi guys,

My take on the matter ...

Yesterday, we had a Firefox 4 beta for a spin. Today, let's talk about Microsoft's latest browser. We have a review of Internet Explorer 9 beta, the upcoming Microsoft release, with topics covered including installation, first impression, new looks, interface, browsing suggestions, tabs management, Acid3 test and W3C compliance, add-ons management, plugins, Flash, HTML5, downloads management, new popup messages, new menu and options, hardware acceleration, speed and responsiveness, memory consumption, and more. Can Microsoft release a decent browser? Read on and find out.

    P.S. In a few days, a head-on comparison with Firefox 4.

    Cheers,
    Mrk

Export them as html from chrome then import them as html? Or is that what you did?

For the record, I'd like to rectify my statement, as it doesn't do it anymore that is pages open normally now (is it self adjusting? Vista64 here).

You're not the first person to experience crashing then suddenly it fixing itself, hopefully these issues will be gone with the next beta.

That's awesome news, I may be tempted to ditch AV when IE9 goes final. With some extra system harderning (LUA/SRP) IE9 could prove to be good replacement as a "first line of defense" for me.

tried IE9 and i think it's a big improvement over the last version.

however i went back to Chrome as i feel it is slightly faster.
    IE9 doesn't have a spell checker.

i also like that Chrome can be configured to show the tabs vertically on the left side which gives more vertical real estate, not a luxury on a wide screen monitor.

I agree. Chrome is still a bit faster, but IE9 is still in beta. Personally I may not leave Chrome for the time being, but IE9 might be able to stop Chrome's irresistible ascent. Competition is delivering great products.

I really like IE9, but have gone back to Chrome and Firefox (won't make a final decision on which I like best until FF4 is final).

The decision is really only related to extensions...there are about 3 I use that I just don't want to be without.

I am using 64 bit windows 7 home premium and I cannot get it to install. It downloads and when I try to install the bar goes over about 1/8 and stops.
