    Please help,

I made an image of my laptop in January of this year. My laptop was stolen a few weeks ago and I cannot remember my password to restore the image to my new desktop. Any suggestions? I had my local consultants at Wired Nation Inc. in Santa Fe, NM run some password revealers and password cracker software but to no avail. They were not able crack the password. If any one has any ideas I'd appreciate it.

    Hi, apilling

    Welcome to Wilders.

I have no Ideas for any help but only to confirm what you already know, There is no way to recover a lose Image Password.

So you will I am sorry to say have to accept that the data is lost without the Image Password.

I remember reading somewhere that with True Image the password does not encrypt the file; it merely prevents the restore program from opening it. So your backup is still there as plaintext in the file. I'd say this was a fairly major security flaw, but in your case, it may mean you can get around the password.

Ask Acronis if they can help.

    Hello apilling,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

I regret to inform you that the only thing I can do is to confirm what TheQuest has said.

I'm really sorry, but I'm afraid that there is no way to retrieve the forgotten password.

    Thank you.
