Interesting article. PIA, Torguard and Nordvpn are using trackers, using analytics and setting cookies.

I will not be recommending Nordvpn ever again after knowing this.

The article recommends airvpn, ivpn and mullvad as vpn's that don't use any of this crap.

What do people think?

 

It is rather hypocritical of them. But I suppose that they want to understand their customers better. And the ones who didn't buy. To improve sales. Just like other businesses.

However, what they do on their website isn't directly related to what they do on their VPN infrastructure. Different people could be involved. Maybe they use marketing consultants. Or someone installed analytics without thinking through what users would see, and how they would react.

Anyway, it's hard to say. But it certainly looks bad
