I am trying to disable a specific protection in the restricted sites section and it is not staying disabled.
I unchecked the box, clicked on the remove protection button and the check mark returns.
I tried this a number of times without success.
What is the cause of this anomaly and how do I resolve it?

Hello Howard,

Is this all happening without any other action in between other programs running or any other Security\Privacy program protection being applied ?
Do you use any other programs that place sites into the Restricted Zone of IE....IE-Spyad, Spybot's Immunization....etc ?
