your right, they are inhuman garbage!!I couldnt hardly stand to read about the abuse :'( Why are such monsters even allowed to adopt kids?In an article I read, there was a 17 year old in the home who wasnt abused.--Why in the world didnt they tell someone and get some help.I know a 17 year old is a child too but in my opinion, thats old enough to do something!!It's a sad and tragic story.I am glad the phsycos were caught when they were before they killed them all :'( Utteringly disgusting couple

You are right to be disgusted people, it is sad, but, maybe the kids had just been terrorized so long they quit believing anyone cared or even could help them. People like that don't just use physical torture, they usually also mentally and emotionally abuse children, it's a big messy package, that takes a long time to help them get over.
Florida has had a lot of problems with foster care, too, they just don't bother checking on the foster parents, there were some big court cases where children were given back to the people who abused them!!! Incredible!!

There has to be a better way!! :'(

Filthy, eroded minds. Too right about the smiles, pure evil. You can tell alot from the lines on someones face. But guys the sad part is it's real and that's only one story we know of. And honestly, I think it's impossible for them kids to ever forget where they have been. Lets hope justice is served, although they obviously hate themselves so much, no punishment would ever promise rehabilitation for either of them.

The Saving Grace is I see so many at Wilders who care so much.

I'm not quite sure how to word this.......and I hope that I am not 'howled down' as a result!
Now this story is not particularly surprising to me! Appalling.....Yes! But not surprising!
As someone who has worked with young people daily for near on twenty years, I am well aware of the prevalence of abuse that exists in society today. Whether this be physical, psychological or environmental, it exists in far greater abundance than is occasionally reported in the media. Now this report is alarming in the extreme, but one needs to consider the number of cases which never see the light of day! Over the years I have seen many kids who suffer from abuse, neglect or simple abject poverty. What is disturbing, is that many of these children are simply unaware of what a 'normal' life would be like.
While our sympathy goes out to the kids in this particular case....please take the time to consider the thousands of children who are not even aware of the abuse that is inflicted upon them.
Reports like this only make me want to go and hug my little girl and tell her how much I love her!
    Brad.

    Very well worded.
Your right! This is the sad, sad truth.
You just hope someone reaches out and 'connects' and helps these precious children.

Also, when these children are all grown up,
who do these poor broken, sad, mad, angry, and very frustrated individuals
take all their built up negative feelings and energy out on??

The poor, helpless, innocent babies that all these angry people grow up and have.
How many times is this cycle repeated?!

    (Not to defend their actions)
But, how many times do you hear, from someone in prison or worst yet a child molester
say that the same or some type of abuse was done to them as a child.

I hear this alot. I can't even begin to understand, why they feel that they deserve a second, third, forth chance at the expense of a delicate little life.

This is a very sad part of our world.
    :'( :( o_O :( :'(

Yes, and not to make this horrifying thought any worse, but the sad truth is
that this kind of abuse whether it be towards children, animals or other
defensless creatures, will continiue until the world ends..... :'(

I'm disgusted, to say the least.

    A good day to everyone.

This probably is NOT my business and I'm the least competent person to comment on this, but I just could not help it! I don't believe that couple. If they just wanted to show those children that they are so tough, why couldn't they simply show it to the Nazis during World War 2?

This should not be accepted. I think they should be hanged, although that may be a bit too much. And I still don't believe that they do partiality (the 17-yr old girl and 14-yr old boy) when racialism was taken out such a long time ago!

Looking at this thread almost makes me cry for those poor children. Weighing so little, having their toenails taken out with pliers..Oh my god! I sure hope the kids will recover...

Those faces are ones I'd remember. I'd want to throw them in a wrestling ring and practise on them.

''But, how many times do you hear, from someone in prison or worst yet a child molester

-How True, BeetleBoss! Some time back, we had a guy who sold a video tape of a 16yr old in a bathroom as 'fresh naturality' and who said he did it as a revenge for the girl ditching him after about two years of 'fun' (or so the newspaper said).

I hope I don't get flamed for what I wrote.

''I hear this alot. I can't even begin to understand, why they feel that they deserve a second, third, forth chance at the expense of a delicate little life.

    I agree BeetleBoss.

I hope this never happens again in even a small scale:(:(;(

Sigh, I guess...for every one of us striving towards a better world; there's two or three who don't want to make that happen.

Albert Einstein said, "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." I've thought for awhile there are really three things that are infinite when the capacity of some humans to be cruel is considered.

I spent a couple of years (almost 20 yrs. ago) as secretary in a County school for SED (severely emotionally disturbed) children. Nothing people do surprised me after the things I saw and the psychiatric reports I typed. :'(

The legal consequences for abusers of children and/or animals are insufficient, IMO; however, no sane person could, would, or should (for their own emotional well-being) take on the job of inflicting appropriate torture in a controlled environment, 24/7/365. Nothing less than that is enough. Executing such people by throwing them in pits of lions, snakes & poisonous spiders would still be letting them off way too easy.

    Dear Firecat,

I know it's hard to grasp,
but I'm only thinking realistically in this kind of matter.

"Abuse", "Hatred" and so on has been around since the human race evolved (however you may want to look at it). And with education, even then it still continues. What else is there to say?
Sure, there are many striving for the better and they DO make a difference in Life and in our world.
But the "devil" will never be defeated......all we can do is "fight" against him...and help and prevent with all the power what we as individuals have in us.

I could not agree more. Let us all try and do all we can to at least 'contain' the devil.

Note:- I was NOT sarcastically speaking and neither am I now. I am really serious about this, I promise.

Why the word accused, the article makes the case sound simple.
