how true is this,net framework is only 28mb total

i stop netframework download since last year,but some programs requires it.
i stop by this sites http://www.hanselman.com/smallestdotnet/

has anybody seen this before?

but i onder if WU then ask for previous net framwork versions...
and tha'll eat almost like 500mb

 

having been through a recent .net upgrade on two machines, the bootstrap or bootloader version can be used, which retreives only what is needed, which was roughly 30mb. If this version won't work, as I had a machine with this issue, the full redist is something like 200mb large. At that point I did not bother to check and see just how big it was extracted and isntalled, but 500mb doesn't sound too large for that sort of thing.

I would much rather the smaller version had worked, but that machine has plenty of space, so not a loss I suppose.
