    Your ISP----->VPN----->Tor---->Web Proxy---->Google

Google's Tor blocker does not block Web Proxy.
    VPN masks Tor usage.
    5 proxy servers (1 vpn + 3 tor nodes+ 1 web proxy= 5 proxies)

Congratulations.Your searches are untrackable to Google. Google has most complete search results. Best take advantage of this whilst untrackable.

Can Google track your searches if you don't set their Cookie?

Congratulations, you just went through 3 steps more than you needed unless you happen to be the Taliban, a hacker, or into kiddie porn.

Your ISP--->Startpage/DuckDuckGo....OR...TOR with NoScript set to deny scripts globally---->Startpage. Forget web proxies, the first ones any run of the mill user are going to go through are garbage and likely to die mid-use.

If you're blocking scripts and using at least one VPN or TOR, it won't matter what Google tries to track, it won't be linked to you (*If* the integrity of the nodes/VPN service is still intact that is. And you won't really know that, so there you go).

    I'll rephrase my question:

If a user isn't doing that stuff, Can Google track searches if the user doesn't set a Cookie?

    @ Rmus

Hi, good to see you back :)

I would say yes, if !

    1 - JavaScript is enabled

    2 - Java is enabled

    3 - Requests are enabled

    4 - Referrers are enabled

    5 - WebBugs are allowed

    6 - IP tracking

7 - Other www's that are linked to Google & you

8 - Other people who include your data, eg email/name etc in their Gmail/Facebook etc

Maybe others too, but that's enough to consider for now !

Of course, then it's trivial. As long as scripts like Google Analytics and others go unmolested and as long as they have your real IP, there is no keeping them from tracking your searches and linking them back to you/your IP. You do not have to go through all that unnecessary mess in the first post, but if you don't at the very least block scripts and hide your real IP through one VPN or TOR (you might as well say a VPN since Google will block TOR), then they have you.

Using startpage.com is pretty much using Google with a proxy.

How does duckduckgo.com compare to startpage.com? Comparable privacy or is the latter one better?

Google has more search results than startpage.com. So I use Google with a web proxy.

    Here
    From Startpage support:

"Our relationship with Google is simple and straightforward: We are a separate company from Google, and we do not share data with them.

StartPage acts as an intermediary between you and Google, so your searches are completely private. StartPage submits your query to Google anonymously, then returns Google results to you privately. Google never sees you and does not know who made the request; they only see StartPage.

Since Google never sees your IP address or interacts with your web browser, you do not receive tracking cookies from Google. What's more, since Google can't determine your interests based on your past search history, you receive standard search results rather than Google's "personalized" results.

We never record your visits, your searches, or your IP address, and we do not use tracking cookies. Our privacy practices are highly respected and third-party certified. Our parent company, Ixquick, has been serving outstanding search results since 1999.

NOTE: If you do not wish to receive Google results, StartPage has a sister search engine Ixquick that returns search results from other search engines. Ixquick is a 100% private metasearch engine that does not query Google. Ixquick is also third-party certified, and comes with all the great privacy protections of StartPage."

Awesome. I will use StartPage ! I'm will get all the results of Google but without being tracked. Much better than using a web proxy.

I see that my WOT ratings show up in Start Page Searches, but my Bitdefender TrafficLight ratings do not. This is not a big problem.

@TheKid7: Not really, it still blocks the page if malicious. Maybe exploits, but that's extremely unlikely looking at your setup.

One VPN is all you need. Use sandboxie and delete the sandbox when you are through.

Some VPNs though may disconnect and reconnect allowing your true IP through, like airVPN and Boleh, so if you use those it will be necessary to manually block all connections if the their VPN disconnects.

Otherwise there is no way for them to track you with a VPN and sandboxie if you are not logged in to your email or something like that.

I don't know how or in what way they use google search results, because they sure as hell don't share them all. Their search results don't even compare to Google's.

The word google, and anonymous in the same sentence lol Why not use Ixquick or something similar? Are you using some of Google's services that you feel can't be substituted that you want to make anonymous?

IMO, if you want to surf Google anonymously, it is enough to use either a VPN or TOR. I don't see the added benefit of chaining proxies/VPNs/etc. when using Google.

You're right. I hadn't tried it in a long time. It is amazing now. And I can access the search result websites through startpage as well. But I can't watch videos if I do this. That sucks. But all in all it's amazing. I am changing my home page.
