    Hi,
I'm running Kaspersky AV personnal pro 4.5., and since two 2 days, i've a constant disk access, and this due to KAV writting to a log file: AVPCCServ.log, under (C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro),

    with the following error message:
    28/09/2004 01:18:32] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: Next turn
    [28/09/2004 01:18:32] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: GetLocalTime
    [28/09/2004 01:18:32] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: Wait next turn
    [28/09/2004 01:18:33] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: Next turn
    [28/09/2004 01:18:33] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: GetLocalTime
    [28/09/2004 01:18:33] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: Wait next turn
    [28/09/2004 01:18:34] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: Next turn
    [28/09/2004 01:18:34] [ i ] : [Work] Task scheduler: GetLocalTime

Any idea how to stop this?
In my settings, I don't have any scheduled task.

    Thanks

Version 4.5.0.104(latest version think no is correct)without the latest patch has this prob what version are you running?,patched version has control centre version 4.5.0.97:- if it is 4.5.0.96(unpatched!) that is most probably where problem is.
The other way to stop this activity is to install without the contol centre
PS are you sure you have no scheduled tasks set:-on install Kav sets a scheduled scan+scheduled update you have to disable them if you dont want them to run

Thanks very much for ur help steve1955. I'm running the latest version(4.5.0.104). and the only way, to get around the problem, is to uninstall the control center componenent.

PS: I've no Sheduled task running, all are done manually, on demand, this was the first thing I checked once the problem first appeared. So, I don't know from where this error message is comming.

I had the abnormal disk activity when I first installed 4.5 Personal with control center. I downloaded all the virus definitions and module updates, and the disk activity was still abnormal. Once I rebooted, the disk activity was normal.

I haven't used the control center for over two weeks now, so I do't know if there is a new bug or not. I do know there was a disk activity bug a couple of weeks ago that was caused by the control center that was fixed with a module update, and then a reboot got it back to working normal.

The patches haven't been re-uploaded after latest cumulative update, so everyone who has installed KAV4.5.0.104 Friday or later, has got the unpatched CC.

    This will be fixed ASAP.

    Hi Jeremy2
What version of the control centre did you have installed?kaspersky updated to 4.5.0.104 but then had to "patch" the update a few days later for exactly the reason you described and reading post above they appear to inadvertantly(!!??) removed this patch from the update servers so you may have been running the latest version with the "dodgy" control centre:-
Control centre of patched version is 4.5.0.97
Control centre of unpatched version is 4.5.0.96
(both patched and unpatched versios of Kav are classed as 4.5.0.104:-you would think they would differentiate between them wouldn't you?)
