    Hello,

    Could anyone provide a step-by-step instruction of restoring to dissimilar hardware, using Acronis True Image Echo Workstation w/ Acronis Universal Restore? (Old machine was Dell Inspiron 8600, new machine Dell Inspiron 1525)

    I tried once but blue-screened upon reboot... thanks in advance for any help,

    Make Image of the entire disk on the old computer - save to usb drive.
    Make the bootable Rescue CD of Workstation with UR.
    Have the drivers of the new system on the usb drive or cd.
    Boot with the Rescue CD on the new system.
    When asked if you want to use UR choose yes.
    Follow the prompts to add drivers.
    When done with the drivers then go on to do the actual restore.

    Hello taylor4814 and DwnNdrty,

    Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products

    We have the appropriate article in our KB, you can find it here. This article contains step-by-step instructions on how to:

    - Back up the whole hard disk drive to an external USB Hard drive;
    - Create Acronis Bootable Media;
    - Restore the backup from external USB Hard drive using Acronis Universal Restore.

    Thank you.
