How to "free" a license?

We use a Acronis True Image Enterpise Server. The Product is registered at the license-server, everything works fine.
Now I have uninstalled the Acronis-Software from the server, but the license is still tied to the mac of the old server. I can't use it on a different Server. I have found a threat, where is written, that the license is tied to the mac for ever. This makes no sense from my point of view. We have bought the product to move an existing server to a new Hardware using universal restore. I won't be allowed to use the product on the new Hardware?
