    Hallo.

    Heb je geprobeerd om 'altijd waarschuwen voordat dit bestand wordt geopend' af te vinken?

    Wilbertnl you better talk English before you get blocked. Just kidding. :D But that won´t fix the problem, I want to disable it globally, not per app.

    Btw, you´re a Dutchman living in the USA? Interesting. Also, we have almost the exact number of posts! Funny. ;)

    Hello,
    You do the following:
    Turn the Windows firewall off.
    I never see those prompts on any of my XP installs - and I do nothing special except turn Windows firewall off...

    It takes some time to appear in Vista as well, it verifies the publisher's signature. To disable it do:
    Code:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Download]
    "CheckExeSignatures"="no"
    "RunInvalidSignatures"=dword:00000001

    I get that warning when opening downloaded .bmp files o_O , but not any files that could actually cause damage ie .exe's etc.
    from the details in the code box, I assume that reg key is targeted at .exe's?

    FWIW, .bmp is associated with a program, which windows either does, or does not remember, depending on the weather.

    Hi,

    I think I´m going to need help with this one, how do I exactly change this setting? I´m using Registrar Lite but perhaps this can be done more easily with RegAlyzer.

    @ Argus Tuft, seems like something is wrong on your system.

    @ Mrkvonic, that didn´t work. But strange that you don´t get to see it. This thing is really starting to get on my nerves, especially because it freezes certain windows while searching for the signature. :gack:

    Hi,

    I have upgraded to IE7 and luckily, I see that it has a feature to turn this off (in the Zone security settings). But now I get a warning on startup that I need to fix my security settings ("security risk, not safe to browse"), how can I turn this off?
