    How to configure Sandboxie to enable programs outside the
    sandbox to communicate with FireFox running in the sandboxo_O

    I have two programs that I am trying to configure. They are:
    1) FileEx - an enhanced file handling (Open/Save) common dialog box.
    2) Bookmark Buddy - a full featured bookmark/url manager.

    Both of these programs are normally run outside the sandbox since
    non-sandboxed apps use them as well. "FileEx" is loaded as part of
    "Startup", while "Bookmark Buddy" is loaded on demand.

    I have tried the following:

    [GlobalSettings]
    OpenFilePath=FileEx.exe,*
    OpenKeyPath=FileEx.exe,*
    OpenFilePath=BmkBuddy.exe,D:\3) AppDt\BB

    Results are less than satisfactory. The "FileEx" box opens, but not
    all features are displayed, and the dialog box indicates that it is a
    "Trial/Unregistered" version. The "BookmarkBuddy" app does enable a
    bookmark/link/url to open a tab in sandboxed FireFox. However, it can't
    read sandboxed FireFox to save/bookmark the current/active page.

    As a side note, if I run these apps in the sandbox they function as
    expected.

    I have experimented with "Resource Access Monitor". No related IPC/Pipes
    are found. I am unclear, but I think some of the output scrolls off the top,
    so I may be missing something. I still have a ways to go before I am
    comfortable with the "Resource Access Monitor".

    I would be most appreciative for any assistance!!!

    Hi, Bookmark Buddy should work with your browser in the sandbox. I reported a glitch I had to Tzuk and he's added BB compatibility with the latest Sandboxie release. It should be in Applications/All Applications.

    BTW, I recommend posting on the Sandboxie forum or contacting Tzuk personally with your problems with FileEx, etc. He has a pretty good record for making an effort to help Sandboxie users. Plus it will benefit other users that might have problems. He did get back to me a month later to let me know he'd built Bookmark Buddy compatibility into the latest release.
