I am trying to clone disk A to Partition 1 of Disk B (that has two partitions).

When I start the cloning tool I am presented with the destination disk B showing both of the two partitions.

Acronis wants to delete the partitions before cloning.
I am used to Ghost which allows me to clone to any partition on the destination disk that is large enough, whether or not there is data on that partition.

I do not see that possibility with Acronis.
    Am I missing something?

In Acronis-speak, Clone is always used to mean the entire disk.. Try Backup and Recover to do what you want.

Which Ghost version have you been using?

I don't think that Acronis can clone a single partition (but it can backup a single partition). If you want to do this, you might consider Acronis Disk Director, instead.

Alternatively, you can do this in two stages with TI:

Backup the partition to a temporary location.
Restore it to the the final location.

But see the thread I initiated (well just the end of it) "CAN NOT RESTORE TO NEW PARTITION" if you are not familiar with the process of restoring a single partition.

    Hello leorob,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please notice that cloning procedure only works with entire drives, not with partitions, as Ralphie pointed.
You can learn more how to use Acronis True Image from the resprective User's Guide.

    Thank you.
