Sometimes if I swicthc any drives around, I have to go into the BIOS and reset which drives are used as boot drives (, e.g., A; then CD then a harddisk). Once the BIOS tries to boot off the right harddrive, a rstored image boots up fine.

This happens almost every time on one of my computers. Any time a new bootable device is plugged in it usually defaults to that device. However, when the device is removed, the previous setup is not always restored and when I go look in the BIOS it has hard drive 3 or 5 set to boot (which are data drives) instead of the Windows drive. I've just gotten into the habit of checking the BIOS boot settings after every change to make sure they're correct.
