It depends . If your CPU is too busy (let's say it so) , it will drop down.
    Generally - v2's kernel uses about 22 Mb ; v3 EAV about 28-30 Mb , v3 ESS no more than 35 Mb

It may vary as I already wrote . It is important to be said that NOD32/EAV/ESS is one of the fastest/lightest products in the industry no matter how much RAM/CPU it needs and that you must try it yourself on your computer first

    On my Win2k workstation, nod32kui.exe is using 2,184 K and nod32krn.exe is using 24,552 K.

I've just been struggling with a disaster on this machine - caused by SAV CE, and in the last week or so I have tested AVG, NOD32 V3, and BitDefender. I liked NOD32 V3 but it didn't like this machine but of ALL I have tried, NOD32 V2.7 lets this machine "breath" - it is noticibly faster at everything it does with this product installed. My general opinion is that it's as fast as it is with no AV software installed.

    Hi,

I tested NOD32 2.70.39, the RAM usage was about 25 MB and it run very light on my system (2 GB RAM, dualcore CPU, XP).
The RAM consumption maybe depends on your installed RAM, I am not exactly sure.
KAV for example uses a little less RAM on my system than NOD32, but that doesn't mean, that it automatically runs lighter.

Therefore I fully agree with HiTech_boy and jimroe.

    Cheers

Simply open the Task Manager in Windows (button CTR+ALT+Del)

You'll see them. For v2 processes are called nod32krn.exe and nod32kui.exe
In v3 they are called egui.exe and ekrn.exe

Here is mine , currently very low

Keep an eye on CPU time for ekrn.exe in version 3.

As I said it will vary and most of the time it is not 4964 k

    4964/1024=4.847 Mb
    1652/1024=1.613 Mb

v2 is much lighter and much faster than the new version.
It doesn't have any blurry text either.

I'm using both NOD32 2 and 3 at different machines but I haven't noticed a significant difference in speed.
