Right now I have AVG free and it runs four processes as seen by the task manager.

avgupsvc.exe (AVG Anti Virus Update Service) 2k
avgamsvr.exe (AVG Anti Virus Alert Manager) 5k
avgemc (AVG Anti Virus Control Center) 13k
avgcc.exe (AVG Anti Virus Email Cleaner) 17k

Two of these run at start up, the control center and email cleaner. Anyway this seems like a bit much (although I have noticed very minimal slowdown). I am considering the purchase of NOD32 and was just wondering how many processes it runs and how much memory they use, thanks.

But please note that these value doesn't mean that NOD32 procceses are using that amount of RAM memory, indeed that amount is RAM + Virtual memory.

The only part of NOD32 I have enabled is AMON(system AV Monitor) which is set to scan all files in deep mode. Here is the usage according to Windows Task Manager:

    nod32kui.exe 1,504 K
    nod32krn.exe 2,364 K
