I have 112 services running on destop at work. However I believe that number would be much higher on my main laptop I use, I'll check tonight.
Is there a program available that can disable un-needed services automatically rather than doing it manually? Thanks.
I don't bother with changing the default, and have lots of software installed, so 80 services. Edit: 115 processes, 25 of them from Chrome.
+1 confusing, unclear. Just like political polls. Cannot vote on unclear question. Windows XP-Pro SP3 Processes (from Process Explorer) - includes 4 for Acronis, 3 for Snagit, 2 for Avast, 3 for Firewall - 35. Services (from control panel) just count of the Automatic ones - 35, Manual 49, others disabled.
With browser running in SandBoxie and my standard security package: Processes: 20. Service processes: 6 including 3 instances of svchost for 19 active services.
Processes . . . i have around 69 right now and that's while using Chrome which creates a couple processes.
Without any app running: 30 processes, which includes 39 Windows services. http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9316/8pro.jpg - http://txtup.co/wmEIF With standard loadout: 44 processes (Chrome, FB, radio). http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/9316/8pro.jpg Nice and smooth, I really can not complain.
Now I'm running 83 processes. It will be better if the poll show intervals, not just numbers (e.g. 30-39, 40-49 etc.).
Currently i have 67 (Compared to yesterdays 69) and in those 67 i have at least 19 useless processes that start up automatically. (Yeah i counted them)
