The comments next to the quantities don't fit reality. 2 is not "just in case" when one of the browsers is part of Windows and not normally removable. 3 is having an alternate browser as the default and testing another one, with Internet Explorer wasting space. About half of my systems have 2 browsers. The rest have 3. All of them have SeaMonkey and K-Meleon. On a couple of them, Internet Explorer has been removed. The overall speed improvement on those systems is amazing.
Chrome most of the time (I can't help it, I like the speed), Firefox when I want to be extra careful or using my credit card. I just can't see any point in having others (IE is part of Windows) installed if I don't use them.
No , because this is not the case (at least here) See : It is the same with many other popular sites (e.g. Google's) Is this option enabled on your computer/IE:
I voted "1" because I installed Firefox and probably would not have IE installed t'were it not required.
Just one baby. Firefox. At least that is one I want installed and use. The rest are just there, OS depending.
Not counting IE which is tightly integrated with Windows (and which I use only for Windows Updates) I just have one browser, Firefox. I did have Opera for a long time as well but this poll actually made me decide to uninstall it. I rarely ever used it and decided it was just wasting space.
I have been using Firefox for years but I recently tried Chrome and the speed is winning me over. I am also playing with Opera but it is slower at times than FF. My thinking with Opera is that it may be the safest as it is probably has the fewest users.
That, IMO, is the #1 reason a Browser is targeted. When your the biggest boy on the block, = IE, you have the biggest target on your back.
I have IE just for Manual Updates, and the BS only IE does due to restrictions Microsoft put on other browsers as their plot to get users to use their dumb browser! 99% of the time I use Firefox and Opera at the same time doing different tasks!
Let's count them all: 1)Firefox 3.07 2)Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 2)Opera 9.64 3)Opera 10 Alpha 4)K-Meleon 5)Internet Explorer 8 6)SRWare Iron 7)Safari 4 Beta This all in Windows Vista. My primary browser is Firefox 3.1. Most of them are for testing purpose. In Ubuntu just Firefox and Opera.
Opera as main and IE8 as secondary in Windows, in Ubuntu it is Opera main and built in FF as secondary.
Most Universal browser is ---Internet Explorer, most of the sites operate well on this.(buggy and easy for malware attack) Most features in a browser----- Firefox ,with its addons .(heavy and slowest) Fastest ---chrome in my view.(No features) Lightest--k meleon.(not famous and not unversal,no great addons) -------------------------------------------------------- Opera---quite universal, inbuilt addons and plugins, fast too. -------------------------- I use 65% browsing -- opera 30 % --firefox 5% each for chrome and IE. ************No browser installed***************
Linux w/KDE (openSUSE): Konqueror (default), Firefox (what I use 4 browsing) Linux w/o KDE (Debian and Ubuntu): Iceweasel and Firefox (respectively) Windows: IE6 or 7 (default, use for Windows updates), Firefox and/or Opera (what I use 4 browsing) openSolaris: Firefox (default), Opera (what I use 4 browsing)
Need to change my vote. Installed Chrome on my laptop to give it a spin. Tweaked the quicklaunch to point to automaticaly launch Incognito mode. Will play with it a bit over time. What the heck, it does`t eat anything just setting on my hard drive.
Just one baby! IE6, have IE7 and IE8 downloaded but don't know whether or not to install one. Waiting for a while to see how IE8 works out probably.
Wow. You know, i click both mouse buttons and go back and forth in history? I drag a word to a 'magically' appeared menu and choose Wikipedia to search? I highlight a word, and an instant definition appears in front of my eyes, without leaving the webpage? I click a button and download a video from Youtube?
Primary is Firefox 3.0.8 Secondary IE 8.0 Reason: I need to access a number of work related sites that are designed around IE, so in order to access these sites in Firefox, I use the IE Tab extension which needs to access the rendering engine of IE. And all is well.
Chrome, slow browsing with Sandboxie and Firefox so tried Chrome and automaticaly launch Incognito mode and Wow fast
2 The one that comes with Windows....Internet Exploader And Firefox 2..the one I use 99% of the time.
