I'm guessing this guys around a little too long ......:p My laptop does about a 16hr day - but a lot of that is fairly passive just running cycles on background programs.

My wife and myself are on our computers side by side. We`re lucky we have the same interests or we`d both be widows. :)

I am a writer so spend six to eight hours on the computer, some writing and some doing research, and reading email and replying. Basically my work week is Sunday to Thursday, 07:00 to 15:00, hour off for lunch, but the schedule is flexible. Some days I take off and mow lawn, run errands, or just play. My work week varies from ten to forty hours a week on computer, but also includes library, meetings, and such. Ten to forty hours on the computer depending on the work and my natural shiftlessness.

I think 5 hours daily is my average. It usually varies from 3 to 7 hours.

My average day, divided in number of hours - activities:

    7 1/2 hours - sleep

5 hours - study (Civil Engineering university)
    >sometimes mixed with<
5 hours - PC (participating in forums, gaming, testing software, reading news/articles, researching, talking with buddies, etc), reading of books
    >these are the "simultaneous tasks" that I'm used<

4 hours - bodybuilding, stretching, swimming, tennis and other occasional sports (only 2 days in the week that I have all these together, when I don't have all of these the rest of the time goes to things like interacting with RL girls/friends)

1 hour - food eating (usually, I don't spend more than 10-15 minutes on each meal, and I drink some healthy shakes between physical exercises - and water all the time)

1 1/2 hours - TV (I like to watch series and documentaries)

In weekends and vacations, if I have nothing better to do, I stay more on PC.

Most of the day! If there is a power outage or I'm not in front of the PC then I'm browsing on the mobile.

You guys, that stay more than 10 hours in PC per day on average, if not working (professional gaming included), are seriously in need of medical help. Your real life isn't being an enjoyable (or even normal) one. You are being the typical guy that others call an addicted nerd, a loser, a potential suicidal person and many other bad things.

As for me, I don't believe that you are "addicted to PC" or internet or whatever, but really, these extreme PC usage times may be indicators of other health problems, such as dysthymia, depression, poor impulse controls and others.

Check with a psychiatrist or psychologist, you may be in serious need of some therapy/medicament.

Most of the freaking day when I am not working. I am not as bad as I used to be tho. When I first got into computers in the late 90's I would have done 24+ hour shots on a regular basis. Of course then it was only dial up so I would have to wait eons for anything to download or pages to open.
