2009 was probably the first year that I only used one AntiVirus: Microsoft Security Essentials. Before it was released, I wasn't using any antivirus. Still using MSE and liking it a lot.
I've had avast! on my computers for 3 years. I added Prevx 10 months ago. That should do it. No reason to try any others.
many antivirus, antimalware, behevious blockers and firewalls and not at once of course. I generally use a test machine for this purpose or when possible a virtual machine at least. Then after some periods of tests I decide what security software to use in my productive environment. I make some exceptions of course
2 i used avg for years til it got bloated so about a year ago switched to avira hated the nag screen switched to mse very happy with mse,returnil2008 and sandboxie and thats all i use and i surf the darkside

All were tested and evaluated in VM. I checked their detection, security options, compatibility, and usability.
Eset, Kaspersky, Avira, Prevx, Norman, Bitdefender, Dr Web, F-Secure, Norton, Avast,Immunet Protect, MSE, G-Data,McAfee,Twister,Panda,Clam AV,F-Prot,Trend Micro and VBA.
MSE - Avast! - Panda Cloud - Emsisoft AM - KIS 2011 - McAfee - NIS 2011 (NIS 2011 will probably stay for at least 2 years).
avast!-mse-immunet-clamwin-eset-norton-avira-dr.web anti virus-bit defender-zen ok anti virus-F Prot,and some items i forget
I don't use any AV for Real-Time protection; just some On-Demand Scanners (i.e. HMP, MBAM, EAM, GMER etc.) When there is a Major AV release (like avast!, MSE, Kaspersky etc.), however, I give it a try for a few days.
The big/common names among the AV industry, the ones that usually/typically rank high on AV-Comparatives, although that wasn't my intention...just happened to be. But among the ones I've tried, these are the ones I liked best: Free desktop AVs: Avira, Avast Paid desktop AVs: Eset Real-time Cloud AV: Panda Cloud Free/Pro, PrevX Facebook On-demand Cloud AV: Hitman Pro MSE...it's quite fair but it's a personal taste of me not liking the idea of updates channeled through Microsoft Update. MSE V2 beta was better in performance in comparison to V1. Kaspersky 2010 was quite 'heavy' on my system. Norton 2010...had a few issues with it but was generally 'fine'. Haven't tried the 2011 versions though for both. Emsisoft was way way too heavy for my liking... AVG free - it's just not my cup of tea so to say along with McAfee. Have had bad experiences with both in the past, and although they're *improving* in the later releases, headlines of their repeated "updates messing up PCs" isn't comfort to my ears. P.S. I'm more keen to use/favor AVs that has a free counterpart for home users.
I work on computers here at my shop and I try all of the new Security products since I need to know what works well and what doesn't
3 BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices ClamAV Intego for my wife's Mac (I'm the one that plays with it).
