I'm thinking of installing it on my laptop. I heard it blocks out lots of sites with spyware and stuff.

I use K9 on my daughters box. Been using it for about 6 mos now. I think it's a terrific "free" product. Just set it and forget it kinda app. In fact I checked it just yesterday and its been blocking all the sites its set up to block. Now all I need is a reliable keylogger and I'll be able to get some sleep at night o_O

Well, you have options to check off. High, Medium & low as well as custom sites to block. My thought's are that it is more designed as a "parental filter" rather than a "spyware discriminator". I have it set on Low: it blocks pornography & spyware sites. If you're looking to just block spyware sites, I'd probably just use McAfee's site advisor and a good AS app. SpyWare Terminator is free and has HIPS.

I have used it for some time now and find it excellent, very light and very fast and accurate.

    I hope that helps

I have used K9 for 2 years now, and found it the best and protecting where my kids go. The one application that I cant live without.
