If an AV is used incremental update, basically, it just needs to download the increment, then its update will be small in size. ESET is used incremental update. Another AV that its size of virus database file is near to ESET is CA, about 35MB.

The largest size of virus database files maybe QuickHeal, which is more than 400MB:D

people should understand that RAM usage is loosing importance.
I/O read -write are more imp.... with so many GB of ram , 60 mb doesnt matter.

thats why eset is still one of the fastest.

From what I remember, Dr. Web had a pretty small database and increment updates.

It all depends on the release date of the installer. Newer the version the less updating. RAM usage should be of no concern to most people with any modern PC. I'm running Eset Smart Security Version 5 beta and EKRN is using 91 MB. It's not slowing down my computer. I'd rather it use RAM than slow down disk access times.

Yes that's what people don't understand, and that's why we see these "requests" of lowering the RAM usage even if they don't feel any slowdowns what so ever.
Since that is pretty much impossible with ESET due to the way it works.
