I know it earned a bad reputation in the past, but I am hearing good things about the newer versions. Im tempted to give it a try, but would like hear some informed opinions on it before i do.

I can't say anything about its detection right now,but for sure is light and fast as Avast or Panda Cloud.I used it with Comodo FW and besides Comodo's CPU high usage glitch, everything was super OK.

I don't know why,but Comodo in combination with AVG,Avast,Norton,BitDefender,Bullguard sporadically and even on idle is using 40-50% CPU.That's not happening with Panda Cloud or Avira free for example, these were my experiences anyway.

AVG is very solid since adding Identity Protection (behavior blocking).

The latest version has received good reviews for detection. The installer is quite large - 150mb/170mb - and the installation/uninstallation process is slow. I also don't think it's the best choice for machines with low ram. Those "cons" may not be issues for you though.
