One of the last steps in creating an image in True Image (version 10 home is what I use) is an "Archive Comments" page that lets you type in text about the image. After the image is created for the life of me I can't figure out how to go to an image file and view the Archive Comments. Should you not be able to to this? Even when you run through the wizard to restore an image it doesn't show you the comments. Anyone?

You need to go a little further into the restore process.

See this thread, posts #28-#31 for details.

There is also this post from Acronis.

Thanks for the reply but I went all the way through a backup today including running the backup and there was no comment screen. This was a full backup.

Why in the heck can't they put a comment viewer within the software. How ridiculous this is. The comments sections is how you know which backup is which. So I've been giving my file names 40 character names just describle the backup. Silly.

Based on Acronis this is "intenitional". Why? For "se-cur-a-ty reasons?" Then it should be encrypted or an option to view with a password.

I never use the Comments page for this very reason. Try creating your own readme.txt file for your comments and keep it handy or in the same folder as your Backups.

Are you saying that this screen:
    comments_screen.jpg

never shows up when you do a backup and because it doesn't show up you can't even type in the comments?

What build of TI 10 are you using?

Can you post the screens that ARE shown during the normal Backup Wizard process? (Not the pictures, just the names of the screens.)

I suppose I can but is there not a way that I can just view the comments without going through the process like I was going to restore? I make multiple backups and for instance would like to view comments prior to deleting the backup file, etc. For instance before a major driver or program install I make an image of C: just in case it mucks things up. When I do a system build I create images along the way after installing the OS, doing updates, installing programs, etc. In the "old" versions of Acronis, the earliest versions I do believe that you could view those comments through a tool in the program. Would seem to make a lot of sense.

It might be nice if the comment showed up under in Explorer under right click, Properties, Summary, which would be a few fewer clicks and a bit faster to present the comment. Alas . . .

    Hello all,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup software

Please note that you can see the comments for archive using Mount Wizard and so on.
You can post your suggestions about viewing comments in our Wish List Thread

    Thank you.
