I created backups using Macrium onto DVD's and also created a recovery CD.
I wiped the drive then tried to use the media to restore the system.
On the Macrium Linux CD there is no provision for restoring from DVD's or CD's, just restoring backup files that are available on disk.

How do I restore from the backups I made?

    Macrium Reflect Free

    Hi Searching

If I recall correctly, when you get to the 'Locate Image' part of the restore wizard, you swap out the Linux disk (I'm assuming you only have one optical drive) for the last of the dvds that hold the image and then select your optical drive to kick off the restore. You should then swap out the image dvds in reverse chronology when prompted.
