Does anybody here know how to turn OFF the Windows Media Center in the Windows Media Center Edition of WinXP? In other words, basically revert the MCE back to regular XP? I have a new computer that boots by default into the MCE screen and I don't need or want the Microsoft MCE functionality anyway.

I'm pretty sure you can do that within Control Panel's Add/Romove Programs. Once you're in there, click on Add/Remove Windows Components (you'll find it in the left column). Note that it may ask you for your Windows installation CD.

Be advised however, doing this will not really uninstall Media Center (in the manner that an app is removed), but I believe it will disable it.
