i have an SSD drive and i want to get the maximum performance from the drive, but i recently noticed that windows leaves some traces or partitions on drives other than the SSD. how can i force windows install to the SSD only and NOT leave traces on other drives. i am using windows 7 but i guess this could apply to other versions as well (but i havent checked or confirmed this)

just remove or disable other drives while installing windows. same thing goes for all OS's, because windows needs some space to temporarily extract files necessary for installation.
