If I submit a newheur_pe, and it's not a false pos, Eset will tell me, right?

Usually not, because it's beyond Eset's engineers to respond to hundreds of samples submited by users. If it's actually a new virus a signature will be picked up so that it's detected by name. If it's a false positive it won't be detected whatsover. As of the next version, there will be an option to submit samples automatically with or without asking, or completely turn off this facility.

This feature will be great as we get a few Unknown Macro Viruses from Excel spreadsheets.

Keep up the good work Eset!!

Please excuse my obvious ignorance ... but what exactly do I submit? I have just scanned an infected computer that found almost 200 trojans 8 of which have been marked "please send sample to ...." but I do not have a clue what I am meant to be sendingo_O?
Hopefully this will be answered while I still have the computer.
    thanks in advance

Option 1 (Easiest way) Put the whole computer in a box, and send it via UPS directly to our VirusLab :D

Option 2 (If you are not using Beta Version) Collect the files which are marked as suspicious on your HDD, copy them all into a subfolder named 'infected-files' after that, ZIP this folder and encrypt it with a password (just use 'virus' or 'infected') then send this to our Virus submisson email addy

Option 3 (Beta Version) Just submit the files via Button (new feature of the Betaversion)

Option 4 - read your Private Messegebox in 3 min ;)

PS: There will be shortly a tutorial available here regarding this :D

No worries, hope you have plenty of office space in that lab, 500 computers coming your way ;) :D

The popup window advising that files can be sent is to short, luckily it does pop up a 2nd time, it would be better to remain visible and then have to close it.

    Looking forward to it.

    Cheers :D

This is what I call cost effective solution  But i doubt the UPS trailer will make it to the virus lab. The streets there are very, very hard to pass for a lorry
