    hi,

I recently been recommended to visit this web-site:

    http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

They have a host file that can block or stop you accessing various sites that install spyware or hijack your browser setting - my question is, is this a legit site with a trust worthy install> any replys are great!

    Thanx

    Hi sam42,

yes, that is the Official website of the MVPS Hosts file ;)

You can use the "HOSTS File Manager" that use the MVPS Hosts file and have some nice features...

Try to disable the DNS service to avoid any conflit.
You can download the files that do this for at the MVPS Hosts file website ;)

Yes, you can remove the file, but why to you want remove it?

    Tip:
use this command line (see the path of your HOSTS File Manager) and put on your Scheduled Tasks of windows:
    "C:\Program Files\HOSTS File Manager\HostsManager.exe" /u
