I have been looking at Hide My Ass privacy policy for the last years and it has changed a few times, their official blog does not really announces when that happens. I remember when HMA privacy policy said 7 days log retention when they first launched their VPN service, it would later increase to 30 days and now I find out that it says UP TO TWO YEARS of log retention, this can be extended under exceptional circumstances.

well what do you expect. Hide My Ass is a UK US based VPN. Only noobs would use a UK or US based VPN service.

I can't believe HMA are still trading, what is the point of even using them?

Are US based VPN services also keeping logs?

I was thinking that unlike a lot of countries, US didn't require that.

They are definitely not a VPN for anonymity! They are only good for encrypting your data, and bypassing filtering of censored contact. I wonder if the Government if paying them for all the customers they have to be losing.
