    Hi Exarkun,

I am hoping this is a different computer. :)

Before you start, please unzip hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These easily get lost in a Temp folder.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {15651C7C-E812-44a2-A9AC-B467A2233E7D} - (no file)
    O1 - Hosts: 12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

    O3 - Toolbar: My &Search Bar - {0494D0D9-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BDF6CE3D-F5C5-4462-9814-3C8EAC330CA8} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P2P Networking] C:\WINDOWS\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe /AUTOSTART

Yes this is another PC... I want to see if I can get to the stage where I can check through these logs myself... Is there anywhere that I can go to find out what should and shouldn't be in these Log files....

Here is the new log file since carrying out your instructions.

    Many thanks again.

    Hi Exarkun,

The best way to learn: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=34

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [rdrriznnz] C:\WINDOWS\System32\hbtqdo.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P2P Networking] C:\WINDOWS\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe /AUTOSTART

    O16 - DPF: {4D7F48C0-CB49-4EA6-97D4-04F4EACC2F3B} (InstallShield Setup Player 2K2) - http://www.napster.co.uk/client/setup.exe

    O16 - DPF: {88C51E90-8E9C-4C96-8A45-574D88B63FAF} - http://acceso.masminutos.com/laaplicacion.cab

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\hbtqdo.exe

It would be advisable to uninstall P2P Networking in Add/Remove Software, but that will probably mean the end of your file sharing program (KaZaa?)

    For spywarefree alternatives check: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/articles/p2p/

    Regards,

    Pieter

Thanks again... Unfortunately it does not allow me to post a reply to that thread so I can join the 'boot camp.

I would still like to know how I can analyse the HJT logs. Any help greatly appreciated.
