You know that HitmanPro lists all recent files when you are running EWS? That is why HitmanPro is listing them.

I've whitelisted all hashes in the mentioned posts :thumb:

Surfright's website should really use HTTPS to protect downloads. And HMP and Alert could use certificate pinning to prevent MitM on auto-updater.

Not directly, but I did read about that recently so it probably did influence my decision to post this. The direct reason was downloading the Alert 3 RC and noticing it was served via HTTP and manually trying HTTPS didn't work.

HitmanPro performs certificate checks on downloaded updates (since 2009). So the MitM attacks that work(ed) on Malwarebytes software do not apply to HitmanPro.

Great to hear :) The website should still be served over HTTPS to protect new downloads.

    Hi,
First post. I just bought Hitman Pro and was wondering if I should use a public or private API key in the advanced settings for VirusTotal and what exactly does that do for me?
    Thanks,
    schemer

The Public API is able for free for the general public.
The Private API is premium (billed) interface to VT and will cost you a few thousand a month. ;)

Edit: The API allows you to scan possible malicious files without having to upload them manually

@erikloman any reason you do not have one installer for both 32bit & 64bit? Most of the new systems are 64bit these days I was just wondering!

    Thanks,

    Daniel :)

HitmanPro is a pure on demand scanner. Also we like to keep the binary as small as possible. In addition, an installer might be blocked by malware.

To get around the bitness hassle use http://get.hitmanpro.com to get the right executable.
