Must be avast. I have comodo firewall and it blocks it from running from start. It also blocks it when you hit Block All from the main screen. I also put it in network policy under blocked and it blocks it. Tried a few ways to block it and it blocked it every way.

Have you tried temporarily disabling Avast and seeing what happens then?

i think its irrelevant whether its avast or not.the fact is that something should not be connecting to the internet if i directly block it.
This could be a trojan calling home and it still would connect.:argh:

its due to some proxy server or Ip 6 have you disable ip6 version may be it connecting via ip6 version

right click on your network icon properties uncheck(disable) ip6 also in firewall and then check also check hitman pro connecting direct on with 1280 or something port if so then its running via avast proxy server.

i bet one much be cause of problem

also please check not only disabling but exit avast completly and just pure on firewall only.

Set to No proxy and see if its going to be blocked.

btw what's the point of blocking Hitman ?
I mean it's useless without net access.

I hear what your saying about blocking hitman pro but i have been reading that some firewalls are struggling to block outbound connections inwindows7.
This was merely a test which i conducted originally with the comodo firewall and avast was not even installed then.:argh:

    Okay I get you :)

I have HitmanPro and Comodo firewall and believe me it was blocked, it was setup in my rules as Outgoing only, but for the test I changed that to Blocked app. and it was blocked. But I don't use proxy so if you are using one then that might be a problem, tho I don't see how. Or maybe you have option in firewall checked to allow safe apps or some rule which allows everything, I mean it's hard to see whats going on with your system, but something is funky :D

btw I never had any problems with firewall blocking outbound connections in Win7, in fact this is the first time that I'm hearing about how some firewalls are struggling with it.

    Beethoven- Easy Issue! Try this:

First we'll delete any old FW Rules for HitmanPro

1). Open up CIS and click on the Firewall tab
    2). Click Network Security Policy
3). Search for the HitmanPro Entry, highlight it and click Remove
    4). Close CIS

Now we'll set the Firewall properly:

4). Right click the Comodo icon in your taskbar
5). Go to Firewall Security Level and choose "Custom Policy"- this will force you to allow/reject anything that goes out, the best of all settings.

    Now to test:

6). Open up Hitman- as Hitman is a cloud application it tries to connect out as soon as you click Next (to scan).

You should now get a Firewall alert that HMP is trying to get out.

Maybe of some interest..I tried to block hitman pro from getting an outgoing internet connection w/ Agnitum Firewall, I went into "settings" and then selected "application rules" & then selected "hitmanpro36.exe" and then selected "edit" then selected "Block all activity" which means "network activity will be blocked" I then tried to execute HITMAN PRO, hitman pro started but could not connect to the internet, no scan was started and hitman pro reported that no internet connection was found.Agnitum blocked hitmanpro from connecting to the internet.

Im going to try this again although i think its a trusted files issue.
If the file is trusted its granted access automatically from what i see.:argh:

    Re: Hitman pro mystery.

No it shouldn't. The case is that other folks haven't had an issue blocking hitman pro. I haven't either. I was able to block it in a number or ways. Either by the main menu, making a rule under network policies or simply stopping all traffic. I was merely suggesting that it may have something to do with avast or another program that you have. Since others haven't had the issue it could be a bad install, odd rule, conflicting program or other abnormality.
