HIPS vs ESS in interactive mode

    I've been hearing that HIPS is good! while ESS doesn't have HIPS, some of the ESET staff has mentioned it has "advance heuristics".

    I like to control what gets access thought interactive would be best.

    1. Does interactive mode offers better protection than HIPS-enabled firewall?
    2. Is "advance heuristics" built-in to interactive-mode? Or is it only available in automatic?

    Advanced heuristics is on for most things by default. Personally I wouldn't want to run something as complicated as a HIPS and much prefer ESET's alternative.

    1. It offers better protection than automatic mode, it doesn't really have anything to do with HIPS.
    2. Like I said, on by default for the critical things.
