i wonder how can a firewall ---lacking the basic functionality of prompting about any other application is trying to access the internet------- reach a very high score on matousec
such firewall failed even the very simple leak test from grc leaktest1.2.exe

it has strong hips antispoofing anti DOS and DDOS functionality
but lacks the simple fuction of the firewall to prompt about internet access
i partiallly understood its mechanism as a firewall
it sets general or global rules for all appliactions all tohether "browsers , download managers , instant messaging , and even trojans

i think classifying this firewall as a very good firewall by matousec's firewall challenge , indicates one thing which is "how useless and crazy the firewall challenge of matousec is "

    so that in my opinion
the simplest and weakest firewall according to matousec will be more effective than that

Maybe there is something wrong with your installation. Maybe you have it configured incorrectly.

1st ---this happens with the default configuration so if this is wrong , so u can blame the default configuration not me

2nd ---it has no english help file , so who supposed to help me in that ?

3rd ---it is not me alone that noticed that
many people who tried this firewall in the wilders noticed the same thing
it does NOT prompt for any application tries to access the internet
here's a proof that this's not only me to notice that

    1. so i suggest for the Netchina S3 developing team
1st - to do an english help file and english home page just if they want Netchina S3 to be more than a local software

2nd - they should fix this bug
and give prompt about any thing is trying to access the internet
so the user can block or allow any individual application from accessing the internet

it's a good piece of software but i thing it needs more work on it
it will be so promising if they worked hard on Netchina S3 and listen to the user comments and apply thier requests

      best regards

I tried it briefly a while back. Convoluted. Not a friendly GUI. It might be a good HIPS, but I'm just not interested in messing with a steep learning curve when there are so many good, easy, stable, proven HIPS available nowadays.

Why lasso a wild cow when milk is so plentiful? :p
